NHADA
Another exciting Antiques Week in New Hampshire has come and gone. Attendance at the NHADA show again exceeded the previous year. Peter Sawyer shared the following story with me regarding Hope French who lives in Plymouth, NH. Peter has known her for several years and when she stopped by his booth this year, she told him she has been to every one of the NHADA shows, all 59 of them, and has never missed a year! Her first year, 1957, she purchased something from Howard Oedel. Planning for the 60th Anniversary Show for 2017 is already in the works, August 10th thru12th, and we know that Hope plans to be there! Thank you Hope for your enthusiasm and love of antiques!
Another date to save! A Grand Opening is scheduled for Sunday, October 23rd at the new Thomas Bartlett Antiques & Oddments, “noon to 6 ish”, on Route 4 in Chichester, NH. Come meet the new owners and dealers, enjoy refreshments and wonderful antiques, creatively and beautifully displayed.
Nan Gurley’s Portsmouth Show, managed by Peter Mavris, kicks off Sunday, September 18th, with additional shows October 16th, December 4th, January 1st, February 5th, March 5th, and April 2nd. This is a short and sweet venue, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, with a good mix of dealers, primarily from all of the New England states.
The Milford Antiques Show opens October 16 and will continue every Sunday through March 26, 2017, except for December 25th. Jack Donnigan is entering into his 41st year of producing this lively weekly event!
