October 2011 News from NHADA

Finally, Mother Nature was on our side at the NHADA sponsored Canterbury Show at Shaker Village. After two previous years of gruesome rain or cold wind, the weather was spectacular in this perfect setting for a show with mountains of country and primitive goodies. Dealers claimed to do well by-and-large, and show manager Nan Gurley performed to her high standard in putting it all together. Thanks you Nan, Canterbury Shaker Village and all the NHADA dealers who set up.

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that our annual meeting will take place Wednesday, November 9 at The New Hampshire Historical Society (Park Street – Concord.). This is a beautiful building filled with some amazing NH items of historical significance. NHADA is currently sponsoring The Society’s “Icons of NH” exhibit, and the library exhibit will be open for viewing as we have hors d’oeuvres and wine in the rotunda. Following our cocktail party (no sit down dinner), we will have our annual meeting, followed by a presentation by NHIS executive director Bill Dunlap. There is a $15.00/ per person fee. Invitations are in the mail, so please respond promptly or contact membership chairman Peter Sawyer at petersawyer@comcast.net.

The New Hampshire Antiques Dealers Association is please to welcome new members; Bill and Linda Morse of Dunbarton, NH, Tom Baker of Soquel, CA, Firebird Farm Antiques of Lee, NH, and Aarne Anton, Of NYC, NY. Membership renewals for the upcoming year will be sent to all members in the next few weeks.

Please forward feedback and newsworthy items directly to me at NHADAprez@aol.com. I will make every effort to pass on the latest in New Hampshire antiques happenings. Until next month – happy antiques hunting!
