New Hampshire is in the frenzy of planned show activity – our hand-out counter space at Parker-French Antique Center is overloaded with leaflets and brochures of upcoming events – there is certainly a lot from which to choose. While in the area, try to visit some (or all!) of our member group shops. They are a treasure trove for all levels of collectors and budgets.
Starting on the seacoast, we have York Antiques Gallery in York, ME, with Brentwood Antiques in Hampton Falls, NH, within a one-half hour drive. Forty minutes from there brings you to NH’s Famous Antique Alley (Rte 4) where member group shops include (east to west) Evans and Wright at the Eagle, Willow Hollow Antiques, Fern Eldridge and Friends, Parker-French Antique Center, Coveway Antiques, Austin’s Antiques, and a bit further west, Concord Antique Gallery in downtown Concord. Further west yet is Court’s Cupboard Antiques, in Antrim; New Hampshire Antique Co-Op in Milford; Bowerbird & Friends in Peterborough; and Fairgrounds Antiques in East Swansey. We can’t forget our friends at Cornish Trading Company in Cornish, ME, and Antiques Collaborative in Quechee, VT! These shops and all members are listed on our website, along with all information regarding address, hours, phone, etc.
The New Hampshire Antiques Dealers Association welcomes Bettianne Sweeney of Williamsburg, VA, to its growing list of quality members.
I need your help! Since I do not set up at the mega-show in August, I have been assigned to co-ordinate volunteer activities. We need folks to help with hospitality, greeters, information gatherers, and booth sitters for those dealers who may need a break. The show is August 11-13, and if you can spare a couple of hours to help out when you come to see the show, it would be greatly appreciated. Why not get into the excitement that this show brings every year? Since this is an NHADA show, you need to be an NHADA member to volunteer. Thank you in advance!
As part of the New Hampshire Antiques Dealers Association sponsorship of The New Hampshire Historical Society’s exhibit “Icons of New Hampshire” the society will have a large photo display of items in the exhibit – at the entrance to the show in August. We are proud to sponsor this exhibit at the Museum at Eagle Square in Concord, NH, and encourage all to visit. Discount coupons will be available at the show as part of their display. More information is at our website.
Please forward feedback and newsworthy items directly to me at NHADAprez@aol.com. I will make every effort to pass on the latest in New Hampshire antiques happenings. Until next month – happy antiques hunting!
