Allan and Penny are well known amongst both the collector and dealer communities as respected dealers with extensive knowledge, a keen eye, and a strong passion for period American Folk Art.
Penny, a native of Wilkes-Barre Penn. has a BS in Social Work and an MSW from Columbia University. She began her love affair with Folk Art (and Al) after a twenty eight year career as a social worker, directing a hospital department in the fields of mental health, psychiatry and medicine.
Al grew up in Brooklyn and Queens and graduated from the University of Bridgeport with degrees in Economics. In 1969, Al and his college roommate founded Parametrics Industrial Electronics Company, where he served as Chief Financial Officer from 1969 to 1983.
By 1971 Al had already become a passionate collector in late 19th century American Advertising Art as well as period Folk Art, eventually participating in his first show in 1983 (The Fall Folk Art Show). He has been a full time dealer since. Penny joined him in 1996. They have exhibited at most major shows throughout America and now see clients by appointment in their gallery in Madison, Connecticut.
Al is well known to the viewers of the PBS television series “Antiques Roadshow” where for the past twenty one years he has been a consulting specialist in American Folk Art.
Penny and Al are delighted to now exhibit at the New Hampshire Dealer’s Show.
